Sandi Vito and Governor Rendell’s Teamwork

It takes two to tango so they say – the same thing with Sandi Vito, the Deputy Secretary of Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry’s Workforce Development, and Edward G. Rendell, Governor of Pennsylvania.  Together, they made up a perfect team to take the challenges of a draining economy and ailing workforce to dramatic change.  Governor Rendell appointed her to take on the position in the labor industry and seek her help to make Pennsylvania become globally competitive by doing reforms on the human resources development and reshape the industry to create results that would match their vision.

Sandi Vito’s careful study of diverting the workforce investment funds, Governor Rendell launched the Job Ready PA, after her team came up with high performance standards that exclusively illustrated the responsibilities the state expected from their regional partners.  Job Ready PA is a wrap-up of complete, cross-department proposals intended to restore Pennsylvania’s financial and educational organization. This package comprised of $5 million in consecrated State financial support to generate new Industry Partnerships in aimed areas of the market and $15 million for training present workers in the Commonwealth’s intended business groups.

Governor Rendell and Sandi Vito’s common objective to improve economy and human resources, the IP Program have become the foundation of Pennsylvania’s workforce development scheme.  More than 6,300 industries are dynamically engaged in IPs training more than 70,000 employees since 2005.  It was reported that 84% of these businesses have noted considerable increase in efficiency because of IPs and training initiated by Sandi Vito and Governor Rendell.
